The first lineup for the LEC 2023 season is locked in. MAD Lions has placed the final piece in its roster puzzle by adding Zdravets “Hylissang” Galabov to the team. He will step in the shoes of Norman “Kaiser” Kaiser, who left MAD Lions earlier this week.

Hylissang joins MAD Lions after spending five years on Fnatic. Under Fnatic’s banner, Hylissang won two LEC titles and made it to the Worlds 2018 grand final. In the past four years, he helped his team to four LEC finals and four world championships. Hylissang left a defining mark on the 2022 LEC Spring Split, during which he performed at an all-time career high for weeks on end.

A big overhaul

Hylissang joins MAD Lions in an offseason characterized by sweeping changes for the organization. Following a disappointing year, which included a seventh-place finish, a fourth-place finish, and a Worlds 2022 run that ended in the Play-In Stage, MAD Lions parted with three players.

On MAD Lions, Hylissang will play alongside Matyáš “Carzzy” Orság in the bot lane. The AD carry returns to MAD Lions after spending one year at Team Vitality. The top side of the map is also set in place. Mid laner Yasin “Nisqy” Dinçer and jungler Javier “Elyoya” Prades remain on the team. In the top lane, MAD Lions is placing trust in rookie talent Kim “Chasy” Dong-hyeon to fulfill the team’s needs.
