It’s still two months until the LEC starts again, but the official roster announcements have started pouring in. Astralis officially waves goodbye to its top side duo, the organization announced on Twitter. Top laner Kiss “Vizicsacsi” Tamás and jungler Andrei “Xerxe” Dragomir have to look for a new home, one split after joining the LEC squad.

“Vizicsazcsi and Xerxe joined our team after a disappointing 10th place in the LEC Spring split 2022 with the hopes of turning the results around in the Summer.,” Astralis’ statement reads. “We want to thank them for their hard work and contribution to the team and wish them the best of luck in their future endeavors.”

In the same announcement, Astralis also parts ways with analyst Flora “Arailla” Parmentier and assistant coach Bjørn-Vegar “Hansen” Hansen.

A disappointing LEC year

As Astralis’ article mentions, the team’s year started in a disappointing manner. With only three wins across eighteen games, Astralis ended dead last in the LEC Spring Split. Vizicsacsi and Xerxe joined ahead of the Summer Split, together with support player Lee “JeongHoon” Jeong-hoon. For Vizicsacsi and Xerxe, the signings were a reunion with Kasper “Kobbe” Kobberup, whom they had played with on Splyce in 2019.

Astralis’ results improved significantly. Though Vizicsacsi struggled to keep up with the other top laners in the LEC, Xerxe’s expert jungling enabled the team to fight among the middle-tier LEC teams consistently. Ultimately, though, they fell just short of making it to the Summer Split playoffs.

Neither Vizicsacsi nor Xerxe has announced where they’re heading next.
